Pakistan Condemns Afghan Diplomat’s Disrespect Towards National Anthem

Pakistan has issued a strong condemnation of the Acting Consul General of Afghanistan for showing disrespect toward the host country’s national anthem, labeling it a breach of diplomatic norms.

In response to media inquiries regarding the Afghan envoy’s behavior during a Peshawar event, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch confirmed that a formal protest is being lodged with Afghan authorities in both Islamabad and Kabul.

“We are expressing our strong protest to the Afghan officials in Islamabad and Kabul,” the spokesperson stated.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had invited officials from the Afghan Consulate to the Rahmat-ul-lil-Aalameen Conference in Peshawar. However, while Pakistan’s national anthem was being played, Afghan Consul General Mohibullah Shakir remained seated, disregarding established diplomatic protocol.
